Watch Review – Mezei Watch Company London Smoke and Arctic Blue

Posted on May 8, 2026May 8, 2026 by Richie

Mezei bringing all the smoke. Is it just us, or is the humble dress watch making a bit of a return to popularity? Sure, dive watches continue to dominate both sales and social media. Don’t get us wrong, dive watches are great, but there’s such a glut of them that they struggle to stand out…

Watch Review – McQuaide C1 Sunburst

Posted on April 10, 2026April 14, 2026 by Richie

There’s something about nailing it on your first try that can be both a blessing and a curse, and when Rob McQuaide, the founder of the McQuaide watch brand, released his first watch last year, the Q1, his debut timepiece hit it out of the park. A bold spec-monster of a dive watch, the Q1…

Watch Review – Belvans Heritage

Posted on March 10, 2026March 10, 2026 by Richie

The Heritage, best pronounced with your best GCSE French accent (Heri-tij), is a classy-looking dress watch from Paris-based microbrand Belvans, who are making a name for themselves in the watch-collecting scene thanks to some slick and very active marketing. But does the watch live up to the hype? Well, Belvans were kind enough to send…

Watch Review – Luthier Watches LP Series

Posted on February 28, 2026February 28, 2026 by Richie

As a watch fan/addict and a long-time guitarist, I can tell you that there’s quite a lot of crossover between the two hobbies.  Collecting for either is an endless pursuit.  Just as there are acoustic guitars, hollow bodies, baritone, shredding guitars with 24 frets and whammy bars, jazz guitars and everything else, in watches you…

Watch Review – Vario VERSA

Posted on February 16, 2026February 16, 2026 by Richie

There are many types of watch enthusiasts. Some just want that one grail piece, those who collect within a specialised niche, be it a brand, a style or even a model of watch (like those folks who have twenty versions of an F-91W for example) or people like us who want the most diverse collection…

Watch Review – Bulova Jet Star

Posted on September 6, 2025 by Richie

We recently reviewed another watch by the American timepiece manufacturers Bulova, their famous Lunar Pilot and while we loved a lot of things about the watch – that true lunar history, the gorgeous inverted panda layout and the wonderful blue chronograph pushers – there were three main things that we didn’t care for.  The first…

Watch Review – Henry Archer Tesseract

Posted on April 21, 2025April 22, 2025 by Richie

In the world of watch collecting, there’s a lot said about your grail watches.  That one piece that you wait and save for, the end boss of the videogame so to speak.  For normal collectors that usually means upping your game price-wise.  Stepping into the luxury market with something like your first Omega or stepping…

Watch Review – Revelot Terra Fortune

Posted on April 9, 2025April 22, 2025 by Richie

We’re big fans of Revelot (Revel-oh, Reve-lot, Reverend Horton Heat?!).  They’ve been on a super-hot streak of putting out watches with really striking looks.  We started with the Mecadromo (we’ll review that one soon) and then picked up two of their gorgeous Hexmariner 39 range.  But as soon as the Hexmariners launched and went through…

NEW REVIEW. We checked out the Estria by @monterawatches. A solid debut watch from a great young #ukwatches company.

Go on. Read it. You've been saying you need to read more.

Armitron. It's quite mental really and not all that practical. I'm super into it.

The case and the scanlines-esque dial make this thing look like an '80s CRT TV but it's modern too. It's a great watch.

I'm not built for the heat but at least it's t-shirt weather and I can show off a pretty dial.

Wearing the @monterawatches Estria. Review coming this week. Had a lot of people ask about this one.

I'm so impressed by what Mikel Coffee is doing with the @oga_watch_project. We reviewed the first watch in the series and had no idea how far he'd take the concept.

This is next level. The camera isnt capturing the dual lume effect but it's superb. The nods to the Emergent are here, there's a definite progression but this is next level. Review soon but, spoiler, it's looking good.

Spent yesterday chilling and BBQing. More of the same today please. And I'm rocking the Purple Coastal by @golbywatches which is definitely in my top three watches.

Shout out to Phillip Booth for asking me about this watch. Hi, Phil!

Sun's out and that means it is BBQ day at Watch Country HQ. Got to go down under for this one with the @blessington.watches Red Kangaroo. A shmicko timepiece indeed.

Look, specs are great and obviously, as a reviewer, they matter but I'm not going to lie. Cool, colourful dials are my bag, baby.
